2009 Clothing Resources
While recently shopping for our first child, I found myself drawn to the stylish designs which are offered from mid-end designers like Juicy Couture, Roxy and Diesel for children and infants. The style seemed to surpass those which were available in children’s stores – causing all of the children’s clothing to appear just too juvenile. There were times when I was able to find not one thing in the children’s store, yet heading to the specialty designer store which sold items from Roxy, Hurley and Ed Hardy, as well as DKNY yielded better results. If you think about it, your children are a reflection of yourself, and I would not dress myself in something that was less than stylish, so why would I subject my baby for this with run of the mill clothes for babies that had been designed.
There are some other parents who feel that this is a complete waste of money for the time that th infant is going to be able to fit into the clothing pieces. Other parents disagree, arguing that the clothes can be sold for a similar price to what they had been purchased for through the use of online auctions and consignment stores. As well, the clothes could be saved for future children, as designer clothes for babies seem to last longer than other styles of clothing. Through the use of these styles, the parent is able to create an image for the child – although most have yet to determine if this is good or bad.
Designer baby clothing can be found for cheap while shopping through auction sites, for brand new items – These items are a fraction of the price of traditional clothing can cost – and a whole lot more stylish. Which side of the fence are you on? Are designer items for babies truly necessary?
