_5359098.preview.jpgThere are very few other ensembles which can create a focal point within the outfit, towards the shoes, such as women’s skirt. Through the use of the skirt, where the legs and shoes are on display, there is a variety of wrong choices that many women make and a variety of mistakes which can cause the legs to appear shorter and a truly unflattering look to be created through the ensemble. When choosing skirts to match shoes within an ensemble, there are certain rules which should be taken into account to avoid a fashion faux pas. Here are some of the rules you can use when choosing women’s skirt ensembles:

  • Choose shoes with short skirts that you wish to display, as well as shoes that have a heel. There should be a small heel which is present with shoes worn with a short skirt to ensure that the legs appear lean and long. Even the smallest of heels can create an arch within the foot, which helps to elongate the appearance of the leg. Throughout the elongated appearance, the individual can gain a couple inches in height, all within the legs!
  • Flat shoes should be chosen only for casual skirts. Although there are many types of flat shoes such as ballet slippers available, casual dresses and other types of ensembles should only be worn with flat shoes. Flat shoes are a casual thing and for an alternative try a small heel, such as the kitten heel, or a platform or wedge shoe which can be easier to walk in for those not skilled with high-heel walking.
  • When wearing a long skirt, be sure to choose shoes that allow the skirt to become lifted off of the ground. The shoes should be high enough for the dress to reach the ground, but the dress should be tailored, or shoes should be chosen to create the perfect dress length.
